Geared Candle Holder
As a first test of my laser cutter, I made a variant of a geared candle holder that I saw in the Internet. The main parts are all 1/4” Acrylic with Stainless Steel shoulder #10-32 screws/washers. The threads for the screws are brass threaded inserts.
I am a classically trained Mechanical Engineer who has specialized in designing and building both large and small scale scientific experiments in an R&D environment. I am currently working at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab at the Advanced Light Source, where I design, build and manage experimental systems dealing with X-Rays, femto-second lasers and a plethora of high-tech gizmos.
My Artistic side expresses itself in the form of Kinetic art, both physical and virtual (light and sound giving the impression of motion.) I have displayed pieces at Burning Man as well as at my studio space located at the CaTaCLYsMic MeGaSHEaR RanCh, which also serves as a base for less artistic projects as well.
